has anyone ever tried gaining hooning privileges renting a location for a autocross?

edit:

its a non functioning air strip. I wasn;t sure who to talk to, what the costs are, if police/meds are required for even the smallest of gatherings. sponsorship etc....

So they just, what, chopped arbitrary sections out of an abandoned airfield to put the road through? And put a development right on the end of the old runway? I've heard of developments close to an airfield but this is ridiculous. < /Groucho>

yea, it was an old airforce base. budget cuts blah blah blah. it used to be 1 hell of a place. I saw the Blue Angles there back in the day. They may still run the blimps for Red Sox games out of there but I think thats it. The plan is to develope the whole place but its taken them like 20 yrs to get to this point.

There was a brief vogue in the late 50s of planned communities that were going to be airstrip-centered for private plane use. That died out, which is bullshit.
